Lyon Hall

Neighborhood: Clarendon

The scene: A busy, European-style brasserie that’s popular with foodies

Happy hour: 3-7 p.m. daily

Specials: $5 drafts beers, $5 wine by the glass, $5 featured cocktails, $10 mussels and other discounts on entrees and apps, including oysters

If fried foods and snack mix aren’t your idea of a good time, you’ll appreciate the options at this bustling Alsatian brasserie, housed in a refurbished Art Deco building.  Happy hour brings four varieties of mussels (with preparations ranging from Thai curry to andouille sausage), oysters on the half shell, a Lyon Hall Burger with raclette cheese and frites, and a 10-oz. hanger steak frites with arugula and Bearnaise sauce—plus a formidable beer, wine and cocktail list that’s heavy on European selections.
